Location: Council Chamber, Civic Centre, High Road, Wood Green, London N22 8LE

Planning Proposal for: Tree works to include various works to various trees at Pinkham WayN11 3PW

This public meeting is being held to consider planning application for the above.  Members of the public can attend and may address the Committee with the Chair’s prior approval.  If there are a number of people from the same group wishing to speak regarding a particular application it is normal practice for one representative from the group to address the meeting.

Objectors to or supporters of applications are allowed three minutes each. There is a limit of two speakers, or if both agree, six minutes divided between the two on an agreed basis.  The number of speakers and the time allowed may be increased in larger, more complex or controversial cases at the discretion of the Chair.

Further information is provided in the leaflet presenting your views at Planning sub-committee which can be accessed on the following link: http://www.haringey.gov.uk/index/housing_and_planning/planning-mainpage/applications/planning_sub_committee.htm.

If you wish to address the meeting I would suggest that you arrive about thirty minutes before the meeting and complete a form, which will be available in the Civic Centre Foyer, indicating your desire to speak.

The committee report may be viewed on the Council’s website on the following link: http://www.planningservices.haringey.gov.uk/portal/servlets/ApplicationSearchServlet

Pinkham Way Alliance Speak at Haringey Council Meeting

Time: Monday 19th November 2012 at 7.30pm
Location: Haringey Civic Centre, High Road, N22 8LE

Pinkham Way Alliance - will be speaking at Haringey’s full council meeting.  There’s room for viewers in the gallery, so please go along if you'd like to see this.

Here's a notice from PWA......
As ever, your presence on the night will remind the council that these are issues their residents are deeply concerned about.

The Haringey Lib Dems have organised a debate on ‘Waste in the 21st Century’, to take place at the meeting. The PWA have a five-minute slot to speak half way through the meeting itself, followed by five minutes of questions.  We hope also to take part later on in the main debate itself, which will follow the routine council business.

The discussion will not be adversarial, but we’re calling into question some key assumptions. Unquestioned, these assumptions could leave all north London residents being financially penalised for not producing enough black-bag waste. And yet we're encouraged to avoid waste, and to reuse and recycle!? Our short speech will be enough to make some very telling criticism.

We hope we’ll see some of you there. There’s room for 60 or 70 in the gallery, and if it's full, it will concentrate the minds of the council. If you’ve got any questions, feel free to email pinkhamwayalliance@gmail.com. Click on Read More below for PWA's Subject for Discussion.

Pinkham Way Alliance Workshop

10/21/2012

Time: Sunday 21st October 2012 at 7.00pm - 9.00pm
Location: Freehold Community Centre, 9 Alexandra Road, N10 2EY (it’s the north end of Alexandra Road, right next to Hollickwood Park).

PWA are inviting supporters to join them this Sunday for a campaign workshop, see the message below from PWA....

The North London Waste Authority (NLWA) are continuing at pace with a massive procurement to deal with waste in London for the next 30 years and more.

It's vital that we build pressure to halt the signing of huge contracts that could lead to the construction of the proposed waste plant on the Pinkham Way site.

This Sunday, we'd like our supporters to join us for a campaign workshop. We'll be working through the ways you can help spread information about the campaign and influence the people in power: emailing; letter writing; attending the surgeries of councillors, GLA members and MPs; press and publicity.

Working with the PWA's experienced researchers and committee members, you can play an important part in planning and launching this key part of the campaign.

Help us reach out to a wider public and demonstrate that these waste proposals are not only wrong for the Pinkham Way site, but also costly and inappropriate for the whole of north London. We have the research to prove it, and to inform a better, alternative plan.
