Area Action Plan
What is an Area Action Plan (AAP)? The aim of any AAP is to establish a set of proposals and policies for the development of a specific area. The local authority goes out to consultation and asks local residents and business what they want from their local area and also what they don’t want. The aim then is to incorporate these ideas with the vision the local authority has for the area.

As we know, the area on and around the A406/North Circular Road was allowed to deteriorate over a 40 year period until a decision was made regarding the road and how it could be improved. This decision was made in 2008 and in anticipation of the road improvements Enfield Council began to consult on the area in stages as listed below. The aim according to the Council website: “To establish a planning framework for the area that develops in a way to meet needs and aspirations. We want the North Circular area to be a somewhere people and business want to locate.”

What you can do to help oppose the A406 flatsThere are a number of sites along the A406 planned for development as shown in the image below (taken from the Notting Hill development plans).
HELP oppose the blocks of flats planned for Site 6 (Bowes Road), by sending the objection letter below either by email to Ray Reilly (ray.reilly@enfield.gov.uk), or Fax (020 8379 3811), or print and post to the address provided in the letter. BHORA wants to see a revision of the development plans to provide housing sympathetic to the surrounding area, bearing in mind the impact on parking and social infrastructure, and with sensible views on pedestrian road safety. These are some of the points stated in the letter below. Please help support this campaign. >> Download Objection Letter for Site 6 (Bowes Road) (posted June 2013) Click on the image below to see the planned sites for development along A406

Please join BHORA and we will keep you up to date with the NCAAP and ask for your ideas and opinions when we make our submissions. We always get lots of great ideas from members and if the council work with public opinion we should see our area really improve.
